Semi-Dry Scrubber System to Control Acid Gases

The TurboSorb Semi-Dry Scrubber treats industrial process gas streams, removing:

  • Acid gases including: SO2, SO3, HCl and HF
  • Ammonia compounds

TurboSorb uses alkalis such as calcium, potassium, and sodium-based solutions to achieve higher removal efficiencies of SO2 and HCl than traditional "dry" scrubbers. And, unlike "wet" systems, with TurboSorb all water is evaporated so there is no liquid waste stream generated. Absorption can be done in a gas conditioning tower (GCT). TurboSorb can be retrofit into an existing GCT or a complete one can be supplied.

The TurboSorb Advantage

Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles, used in the TurboSorb Semi-Dry Scrubber, produce finely controlled droplets. The maximum spray coverage of these droplets, along with the ability to control droplet size and distribution, are the keys to efficient scrubbing.

TurboSorb also provides moisture conditioning and temperature control for the gas stream.
