TurboSonic Announces Receipt of US$2 Million Contract: Second Order from Italcementi in this Fiscal Year
For Immediate Release
Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
June 9, 2009
This latest contract is for TurboSonic’s TurboSorb Semi-Dry Absorption (SDA) technology for the reduction of SO2 emissions - a major concern worldwide because of the hazardous health effects (respiratory illness) and negative environmental impact, such as acid rain, which occurs when SO2 is emitted to the atmosphere. TurboSorb SDA technology uses TurboSonic’s patented Turbotak spray atomization technology for effective control of acid gas emissions, which has been employed in the waste incineration and power generation industries. Equipment is scheduled for delivery this calendar year.
Edward Spink, TurboSonic CEO, stated, “This is another contract won through the collaboration of our North American and European offices and yet another repeat order from a large, multi-national corporation, consistent with our strategy of focusing on building long-term loyalty and growth through customer satisfaction. With its 63 plants worldwide, Italcementi certainly fits into our vision for growth.”
TurboSonic Technologies (www.turbosonic.com) designs and markets air pollution control technologies to industrial customers worldwide. Its products help companies in the Cement and Mineral Processing, Ethanol, Metals & Mining, Petrochemicals, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, Waste Incineration, and Wood Products industries meet the strictest emissions regulations, improve performance and reduce operating costs.
