TurboSonic Announces Marketing Campaign To Promote Four New Products

September 21, 2000

TURBOSONIC TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (OTC Bulletin Board – TSTA) today announced a marketing campaign to promote four new products for air pollution control and industrial process improvement. These products will be marketed for the first time using the following product names.

TurboSOx is a new process, developed in partnership with The Dow Chemical Company, which uses a proprietary amine to recover pure Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) from process gas streams (a major contributor to "Acid Rain"). Industries including petrochemical refining, power generation, sulfite pulping, metals and any company with a gaseous source of SO2 is a potential customer for the TurboSOx technology. The product offers not only an environmental benefit by preventing industrial SO2 pollution, but also an economic payback as the recovered SO2 can be reused or resold by the plant.

SoniChem is a patent-pending process for efficient elimination of Non-Condensable Gases (NCG’s) such as mercaptans, sulphides and other compounds from pulping operations. NCGs contribute to offensive pulp mill odors, impacting neighboring communities. SoniChem’s chemical oxidation process offers significant benefits over traditional thermal oxidation, including lower capital and operating costs. This state-of-the-art technology will be marketed to the pulp and paper industry.

TurboSorb is a semi-dry scrubber that uses an alkaline reagent, such as a lime slurry, to remove contaminants, such as SO2 and HCl from industrial gas emissions. With the TurboSorb technology, all water is evaporated so that no liquid waste is generated. This feature is very important with industries such as cement and incineration that traditionally do not have water treatment equipment.

SonicBURN is the application of TurboSonic’s Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles for waste fuel combustion. With a unique design, the nozzles spray a variety of waste fuels such as dirty oils, solvents, and emulsions for efficient combustion. Waste fuel is used by industries, such as cement and steel, to supplement fuel used in their combustion processes at a cost savings. The SonicBURN systems allow longer production runs, less maintenance, and reduced costs compared to other designs.

"These new products reflect the return on TurboSonic’s investment in R&D" said Ed Spink, CEO of TurboSonic. "We are confident that these state-of-the-art technologies and processes will be of great benefit to industry and the environment for years to come."

These new products join the rest of TurboSonic’s product line, including SonicKleen™ Wet Electrostatic Precipitator, Turbotak Wet Scrubber, SoniCool® Evaporative Gas Cooling and Conditioning, Dry Fog® Dust Suppression, and Turbotak Atomizing Nozzles, for a comprehensive line of products to meet all of the air pollution control problems facing industry.

TurboSonic Technologies designs and markets proprietary air pollution control technologies to industrial customers worldwide. Its products are designed to meet and exceed the strictest emissions regulations, improve performance, reduce operating costs and recover valuable by-products.
